Follow mythological heroes & modern Greek legends: This grand Ionian tour combines 2 itineraries: ‘CELEBRITY ISLES' ‘MYTHOLOGICAL ITHAKI & KEFALONIA’. It includes overland site-seeing by car and short day trips by kayak.

ITINERARY:
DAY 1 VASILIKI TOWN, LEFKADA ISLAND
Arrive at Vasiliki hotel before 3pm to meet guide. We check kayaking equipment, help pack your gear into supplied dry-bags and run through basic kayak instruction in shelterede Vasiliki Bay Excess luggage is safely stored at our base. Full briefing over dinner at local taverna.
DAY 2 MIKROS GIALOS VIA SIVOTA
Pack kayaks after breakfast and begin paddling. First stop picturesque Sivota- a traditional fishing port with a row of tavernas along the waterfront where we stop for lunch. Visit the 'old olive mill' - an original stone press restored in the converted café. Paddle to a secluded beach inside Rouda Bay, set up our campsite. Relax and swim in the crystal clear waters. Campfire & dinner on beach prepared by guide. 18km (total 4 hrs) (B, D)
DAY 3 SPARTOHORI, MEGANISI
Follow coastline, explore deep sea cave with phosphorous blue water and coloured reef. Cross to Meganisi Island leave kayaks at Porto Spilia for short trek to charming Spartohori - a hilltop village with limewashed houses and narrow cobbled lanes. From the terrace there's sweeping views of the Ionian sea to Lefkada. Free afternoon in Spartohori. Dinner at a local taverna. Overnight in Saprtohori guesthouse. 12km ( 2-3 hrs) (B, L)
DAY 4 SCORPIOS ISLE & NIDRI
Paddle to Scorpios Isle- owned by notorious Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onasis. Kayak by wife Jackie O’s chic beach hut right by the water. Swim and picnic at the only beach open to the public. Paddle to Madouri Ilset, belonging to famous Greek poet Aristotelis Valaoritis. Continue to lively Nidri Town on Lefkada- free time to visit tourist shops and beach bars. 15km (total 3 hrs) (B, L)
NOTE: Evening local ferry transfer to Frikes, Ithaki on day 4. Or morning transfer on day 5. TBA depending on seasonal ferry schedule. (approx 1hr 30 mins ride)
DAYS 5, 6 & 7 FRIKES HARBOUR- ITHAKI
Frikes harbour 2 nights in local guesthouse.
Discover Ithaki –unffected by tourism & admired for unspoiled nature. Depending on weather, guide will advise group on best itinerary for the day, options include:
* Morning paddle to discover pristine bays nearby Frikes - for good snorkelling and swimming (15 km return)
* Morning Paddle or drive to picturesque Kioni (15km return), a traditonal little fishing port with excellent waterfront restaurants, cafés, and quality shops selling local handcrafts. Afternoon drive to huge Vathy harbour, Ithaki's main town- admire stately old mansions along the waterfront
* Walk/trek to Stavros village up the hill above Frikes, to visit beautiful Orthodox churh and nearby 'Odysseus archeological museum' housing artefacts from Homeric period.
* Evenings free - dinner your choice in Frikes, or drive to sample exceptional restaurants in Kioni and Vathy. (3B, 3L)
NOTE: Day 7- evening local ferry transfer to Fiscardo harbour on Cyprus covered Kefalonia (1 hour). Or morning transfer on day 8. TBA depending on seasonal ferry schedule.
DAYS 8 & 9 FISKARDO HARBOUR, KEFALONIA
2 nights guesthouse stay in Fiskardo, a picture postcard Italianate harbour brimming with expensive yachts, restaurants and very stylish boutique shops- fashion, jewelery & local handicrafts. Sample some of Greece’s best wine produced in Kefalonia, and local nougat. Depending on weather conditions, your guide will advise on the best itinerary for the day. Options include:
* Morning paddle to ruins of Venetian lighthouse and Norman church (3km)
* Paddle along coast to secluded beaches, visit solitary little church on Daskalio (12km)
*Drive hire car from Fiscardo to visit spectacular Assos- peninsular village of pastel coloured houses beneath a grand Venetian fortress, 15km from Fiscardo. Also visit Myrtos – one of Greece’s most breathtaking beaches. Visit Sami town- where ‘Captain Correlli’s Mandolin’ was filmed.
* Evenings free – dinner at your choice of exceptional restaurants in Fiscardo with ringside seat of the ritzy yachts. (2B, 2L)

DAY 10 VASILIKI- CHECK OUT
