ODYSSEY KAYAKING GREECE is an Australian based and managed operation, working in conjunction with local operators. Our guides are qualified, active lifeguards with extensive water experience. We follow Australian water safety standards, and are dedicated to quality service.
We are continually exploring the region, discovering new attractions, pioneering new tour routes and expanding our local knowledge. Being well connected around the region, our guides bring the benefit of personal and authentic experiences to every single trip.
GUIDE PROFILE
Odyssey Kayaking Greece founder and chief guide- Jo Dounias, of Greek Australian background, is fluent in written and spoken Greek, and is knowledgeable on the region’s local history and culture. She is a qualified and experienced kayaker, an Australian Surf Life Saver and keen adventurer. When not in Greece, Jo teachers kayaking, and guides kayak tours in Sydney harbour with Ozpaddle, Rose Bay.
In September 2002, Jo solo kayaked around the Ionian Islands for 6 weeks - covering over 1000km from Lefkada to Zakinthos and taking notes on everything in between. She devises our tour itineraries and has been working as a kayak guide in this region ever since.
Jo appeared in Australia’s ‘Great Outdoors’ TV programme for a feature on Ionian Isles kayak tours, which aired in 2006 and 2007.
